Whether you are already a practicing entrepreneur in China, or just want to learn more about it, you are welcome to join us on a night of discussion, networking, and yummy dinner. But be aware, seat is limited, so grab your spot now!

What is D4-12?
A version of UCLA Anderson's D48 (Dinner for eight) series, D4-12 (Dinner for twelve) is an ongoing series where twelve Anderson alums and guests enjoy a dinner together. Each D4-12 has a topic or an industry focus based on the interests of our Chapter, and will be loosely moderated by a topic expert to guide the discussion. It's a fantastic mentoring and networking opportunity!

What is Hai Di Lao?
Hai Di Lao Hot Pot (海底捞火锅), is a chain of hot pot restaurants founded in Sichuan Province, China in 1994. Over the past 16 years, it has owned 50 direct marketing stores in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Nanjing and many other major cities. In 2009, it had ten thousand employees. Hai Di Lao is famous for its value added services, such as massages and nail services while you wait for a table. Numerous Chinese books had been published on the business case of Hai Di Lao.

Event Moderator: Sameer Karim
Sameer Karim '10 is the Vice President of Strategy for Originate China, a "Value Added Venture" company. In addition to capital, Originate offers an expert team of strategists and engineers to take a hands-on role in building and launching new companies. Prior to joining Originate, Sameer worked in the Strategic Financial Analysis group at Toyota, and was also a consultant at Accenture.  


Participating Entrepreneur: Michael Yuann
Michael Yuann '08 is Founder of Game Concourse, a transmedia games studio. Game Concourse develops games that extend the mobile gaming experience to Smart TVs, and enables multiplayer gameplay across different platforms. Prior to Game Concourse, Michael held operational roles in the free-to-play, massive multiplayer online (F2PMMO) games industry.

Participating Entrepreneur: Joseph Fuqua
Joe Fuqua '09 is Managing Director for FarView Academic Consulting and runs the Shanghai office. FarView helps students from Greater China achieve their education goals by helping them prepare for and apply to high schools and universities in the United States. Prior to FarView Joe worked in software design for multiple firms in Silicon Valley and San Francisco.
